Tammy
Sarracino, M.Ed., OTR/L, has been practicing occupational therapy for
over twenty years, specializing in pediatrics, sensory-related
disorders, and school systems. She graduated from Elizabethtown College
with a B.S. in Occupational Therapy in 1983, and earned her Masters in
Education from Pennsylvania State University in 1995. Her professional
career includes extensive experience evaluating and treating children
with a wide range of diagnoses, including autism spectrum, traumatic
brain injury, learning disabilities, mental retardation, visual
impairment, hearing impairment, neurological disorders, cerebral palsy,
developmental delay, attention deficit disorder.
While she has
a clinical specialization in sensory processing issues in children, her
expertise includes applied behavioral analysis, feeding, and autism.
She has mentored, trained and educated thousands of professionals,
students, and parents on issues related to autism, sensory processing,
child development, education, and occupational therapy.

Consultant and trainer for the Pennsylvania
Training and Technical Assistance Network’s statewide initiative on
autism(1997-2002).
Field researcher for Winnie Dunn, PhD,FAOTA.,
author of The Sensory Profiles, and internationally respected
occupational therapy researcher, author and educator (1992-93).
Member of the American Occupational Therapy
Association’s Aspire Cadre of service providers in school settings (2001
to 2004).
Author of numerous articles published in
national occupational therapy, allied health, and educational journals
and newsletters (1985 to present).
1995 Recipient of the Pennsylvania Occupational
Therapy Association’s highest award for achievement.
Certifications in administration of the Southern
California Sensory Integration Tests (1986), the Sensory Integration and
Praxis Tests (1990), and the Interactive Metronome (2002).
Author of the first edition of the Pennsylvania
Occupational Therapy Association’s Position Paper on Guidelines for
Occupational Therapy Practice in Pennsylvania’s Public Schools(1995), as
well as co-author of the revised edition (1999).
